Tim Says Goodbye as His 2 Year Term is Complete, Your New Club President

“That was the best meeting we’ve had in the last three years!” a Denver Broncos Quarterback Club member told me as we were finishing up our lunch meeting with Mark Jackson on December 1st. That comment and that meeting brought a smile to my face as I concluded my two year term as your President. My hope in my two years, with the help of your board of directors, was to build on the strong tradition of the QB Club and I think we did that. We had some great meetings (with former Broncos Rod Smith, Simon Fletcher, Ryan Harris, and Mark Jackson to name a few as well as prominent members of the press like Cecil Lammey, Mike Klis, and Nicki Jhabvala). We also added some new types of events, like Bronco away game watch parties and Bronco QB Club tailgates before home games.

Booster clubs for NFL teams are pretty much extinct these days as the teams have their own PR staffs to engage with the fans. Not true of our club – we are probably the longest running booster club in the NFL. As a 12 year old in 1968 when I bought a Bronco season ticket from the meager funds in my savings account, little did I know that purchase was the start of a life of Bronco thrills for me. Being a part of the Quarterback Club enhanced my Bronco experience even more – it was an honor to serve as your President the past two years.

The future of the QB Club is bright. Your new President, Tom Jacobsen, has been a big help to me and the club the last two years in his role as Vice President. Our new Vice President is Jamie Teumer. Jamie has contributed much as part of our board of directors the past two years. I’ll still be around as a member of the board and as the club’s event coordinator. We are already talking about plans for 2019 – stay tuned for more meetings and activities to come!

Go Broncos Go!

Tim
